Maintenance forecasts are generated for tracked parts in the system. That is, for parts with a constraint set up. The forecast is generated from within the Planning and Production Maintenance Forecast sub-module. The Maintenance Forecast sub-module is designed to allow the user to query for jobs that are coming due within a specified period of hours, landings, or days. The main purpose of the Maintenance Forecast is to create NEW job cards by issuing from the forecast results - see Create Job Cards - Maintenance Forecast.

RAAS is designed to take into consideration that there may be a number of different staff (technical records staff, planning staff, etc.) responsible for different stages of maintenance forecasting and planning. Consequently, RAAS breaks the forecasting and planning process into stages and allows for flexible decision making along the way.

  1. Select a search type, enter the search criteria and click Find. Select the desired serial number from the pull-down list.
  2. Modify the forecast filter criteria.
  3. Forecast Period: unit of measure in terms of hours, landings and days that is used to establish how far into the future you want to view jobs
  4. Utilization Rate: used to calculate an Estimated Due for items appearing in the forecast
  5. Pending Items: jobs that will come due within the Forecast Period specified
  6. Issued Items: jobs issued from a forecast to New Forecast Jobs; or New Forecast Jobs to a job card group
  7. Open Items: jobs for which a job card has been created and opened
  1. The current Filters are displayed under the serial number search. Click the Filter button allows modify the items in the Filters list.

At this point, you can either continue with Step 4 or you can proceed to Step 6 to further refine your forecast results.

  1. Click Execute Now to generate the forecast
  2. Before the forecast list is fully generated, RAAS presents the user with the opportunity to make adjustments the utilization rates of the major assembly (i.e. Aircraft) and items designated for Separate Time Tracking (i.e. Engines). For demonstration purposes, the Figure 13-1 shows the utilization as an overlay.

  1. Click More Details to further refine your forecast or continue to step 5.
  2. 6.1 - Select a search type, enter the search criteria and click Find.
  3. 6.2 - Select a part number from the list and click Add Part Number
  4. 6.3 - Continue to add part numbers until the Selected Parts list contains the desired parts. Double-clicking a serial number will remove it from the Selected Parts list.
  5. 6.4 - Include sub-components for select Serial Numbers must be checked in order to be included in the forecast results.
  6. 6.5 - Click Forecast Now to generate the forecast.
